NatWest customers have been left frustrated today, Tuesday, 26 August 2025, after the bank’s mobile app suffered widespread disruptions.
According to outage tracker DownDetector, reports of problems began flooding in earlier this morning, with over 100 complaints logged. Many users say they are unable to access their accounts through the app, instead being met with error messages and login issues.
The bank has acknowledged the outage, confirming on its official X (formerly Twitter) account that some mobile banking services are down.
NatWest has advised customers to use its online banking platform or telephone banking services while engineers work to resolve the issue.
The disruption appears to have hit customers whose accounts were recently migrated from Sainsbury’s Bank, with some receiving messages that their app is “not yet ready to use.”
A few users have reported success by uninstalling and reinstalling the app, though many remain locked out.
NatWest says it is investigating the problem and will update customers as soon as normal service is restored.
