SASSA July 2025 Grant Dates – Child Support Payment May Shift

DIY TRENDS

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the grant disbursement dates for July 2025.

According to the agency, payments will commence in the first week of July and follow the standard staggered approach to reduce congestion at payment points.

  • Older Persons Grant – Wednesday, 2 July 2025

  • Disability Grant – Thursday, 3 July 2025

  • Child Support, Foster Care & Care Dependency Grants – Friday, 4 July 2025 (with a possible delay to Monday, 7 July)

The Child Support Grant, in particular, may see a slight delay due to administrative and system-related adjustments. SASSA has urged recipients to remain alert to this potential shift.

Possible Shift in Child Support Grant Date

SASSA has indicated that while the children’s grants are scheduled for 4 July, some payments may only reflect in accounts by Monday, 7 July 2025. The agency attributes this to internal verification processes that occasionally affect the release timeline.

This announcement is especially significant for beneficiaries who depend on the timely arrival of these funds to manage essential expenses, including food, school fees, and transport.

Payment Methods and Beneficiary Advisory

SASSA continues to encourage beneficiaries to use registered bank accounts, SASSA gold cards, or participating retail outlets such as Shoprite, Boxer, Pick n Pay, and Spar.

The agency also clarified that there is no need to withdraw funds immediately, as they remain safely stored and accessible.

“Funds will remain in your account until you need them. Please avoid rushing to withdraw on the first day,” SASSA advised.

Those expecting payments are also urged to double-check their banking details and ensure their contact information is up to date with the agency.

Grant Amounts Remain Unchanged for July 2025

There have been no changes to grant amounts for July. The rates remain consistent with the adjustments made earlier this year:

  • Child Support Grant – R530 per child

  • Foster Care Grant – R1,180

  • Care Dependency Grant – R2,090

These grants continue to play a crucial role in supporting millions of vulnerable South Africans.

Stay Updated Through Official Channels

Beneficiaries are advised to follow SASSA’s official platforms for real-time updates. In case of issues or delayed payments, recipients should contact the SASSA toll-free number 0800 60 10 11 or visit the nearest office.

As July approaches, SASSA’s proactive communication ensures that beneficiaries can plan ahead—even in the event of minor delays—ensuring continued access to critical social support.
