The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has issued a reminder to beneficiaries that those whose R370 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant applications were declined still have the right to appeal.
According to SASSA’s official communication, applications may be declined if employment or alternative income is detected through external databases, including financial institutions. However, applicants who believe their rejection was unfair can challenge the decision.
To lodge an appeal, beneficiaries can use the following links:
-
Internal users: https://srdinternal.sassa.gov.za
-
External users: https://srd.sassa.gov.za
SASSA emphasized that appeals are crucial for individuals who are not satisfied with the reasons provided for their declined application.
This reminder comes as thousands of South Africans continue to rely on the SRD grant, which is currently set at R370 per month.
