The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has advertised an external vacancy for a Grants Administrator position in the Free State Region, offering an opportunity for qualified South Africans to join the organization’s mission of delivering essential social services.
Position Details
The Level 05 position, based at the Kroonstad Local Office in Parys, offers a competitive salary package ranging from R228,321 to R268,950 per annum, exclusive of benefits. The closing date for applications is November 7, 2025.
Requirements and Qualifications
SASSA is seeking candidates with a qualification at NQF Level 6, as recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), along with essential computer literacy skills.
Applicants with a valid driver’s license and administrative or clerical experience will have an added advantage in the selection process.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in grant administration, with duties including providing customer care services to grant applicants, screening and capturing grant applications, performing beneficiary maintenance functions, administering medical bookings and assessments, offering off-site grant application services to clients, and managing the scanning and batching of grant files.
In line with South Africa’s commitment to representativity, the position prioritizes African males as the first preference, followed by Coloured males, White males, and Coloured females as the second preference.
SASSA emphasizes that appointments will be subject to pre-employment screening, including qualification verification, reference checks, criminal record checks, and competency assessments.
