PV Guangzhou 2027, the Solar PV & Energy Storage World Expo, will take place from August 13–15, 2027, at Area A of the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China, bringing together manufacturers, suppliers and industry professionals across the renewable energy value chain.

The organiser expects the exhibition to feature approximately 2,000 exhibitors across 180,000 square metres, providing a platform for international buyers to explore photovoltaic technologies, energy storage systems and related industrial solutions.

The 2027 edition will place greater emphasis on energy storage, reflecting the importance of battery technologies and integrated power systems in supporting renewable energy deployment and improving electricity reliability.

Solar and storage technologies

The exhibition will cover a broad range of photovoltaic products, including solar cells and modules, inverters, monitoring systems, cables, connectors, mounting structures, tracking systems and charge controllers.

Manufacturing technologies will also feature, spanning polysilicon, wafers, solar cell and module production equipment, automation systems and associated materials.

Energy storage products will include electrical energy storage systems, batteries, capacitors and related components.

Other application areas include residential and commercial rooftop installations, large-scale solar power plants, building-integrated photovoltaics, off-grid systems, solar lighting and solar-powered pumping equipment.

Operations and maintenance solutions, including cleaning robots, drones and monitoring software, will also form part of the exhibition’s product categories.

International manufacturers and suppliers

The organiser has identified several established solar and energy technology brands among those associated with the event, including AIKO Solar, Astronergy, Canadian Solar, Chint Solar, DAH Solar, DAS Solar, GoodWe, Growatt, JA Solar, Jinko Solar, SMA Solar, Sungrow, Tongwei Solar and Trina Solar.

Participation by individual companies in the 2027 edition should be confirmed as the event approaches.

The exhibition will also cover engineering, procurement and construction services, project development, testing, certification, consultancy, training, financial services, logistics and digital marketing.

This range of services is intended to connect technology manufacturers with buyers and professionals involved in renewable energy project development, equipment procurement and installation.

Opportunities for African markets

Solar technology and energy storage have growing relevance for African businesses seeking reliable electricity for industrial operations, agriculture, commercial buildings and logistics infrastructure.

Solar-powered irrigation, off-grid electricity systems and energy solutions for warehouses and distribution facilities are among the applications that could benefit from continued developments in photovoltaic technology and storage.

For businesses considering equipment sourcing from China, exhibitions provide an opportunity to compare products, assess technical specifications and establish relationships with manufacturers.

However, procurement decisions also depend on financing, certification, import requirements, warranties, spare parts availability and access to local installation and maintenance services.

These factors are particularly important when evaluating equipment for long-term use in African markets.

International participation

According to figures supplied by the organiser, overseas professional visitors to the 2026 edition, excluding mainland China, represented six continents.

Africa accounted for 8.2% of the reported overseas visitor distribution, while Asia represented 61.8%, Europe 14.4%, North America 7.2%, South America 4.8% and Oceania 3.6%.

The organiser also highlighted repeat participation by international business groups, including the Moldova-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a Korean energy storage buyers group and Malaysian engineering, procurement and construction alliances.

These examples illustrate the role of specialised trade exhibitions in facilitating supplier relationships and sourcing opportunities.

PV Guangzhou 2027 is scheduled for August 13–15, 2027, at Area A of the China Import & Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.
