Construction of Tangier tech city in Morocco has received the much needed boost after Chinese firms China Communication Construction Company Ltd. (CCCC), and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) signed a memorandum of understanding MoU with Morocco.
The MoU signed between Tangier Tech Development Company (SATT) and the two Chinese companies paves way for construction to begin on a project that will take 10 years to complete.
Tangier Tech City was launched by King Mohammed VI in March 2017. Nearly 200 Chinese companies operating in the automotive, aerospace, textile, electronics, and machine tool sectors are planning to set up locations there.
The smart city will comprise multiple industrial zones specializing in several sectors including aeronautics, automobiles, telecommunications, renewable energy, and transport equipment.
