Home Depot Closes Rockville Design Center in Maryland

EVENTS SPOTLIGHT

The Home Depot Design Centre located at 12087 Rockville Pike in the Montrose Crossing Shopping Centre, Rockville, Maryland, has permanently closed, marking the end of the retailer’s specialized showroom presence at the site.

The facility, which focused on kitchen, bathroom, flooring and interior renovation solutions, served homeowners, contractors and designers with consultation services and product displays rather than traditional warehouse retail.

A notice at the premises confirms that the location has shut down and will not reopen.

While Home Depot continues to operate multiple full-format stores across Maryland, the closure of the Rockville Design Centre reflects a shift in retail and showroom strategy as the company reassesses the performance of its specialized concept stores.

For the local construction and renovation market, the shutdown may affect interior fit-out contractors, designers and suppliers who previously relied on the center for client consultations and product sourcing, redirecting activity back to standard Home Depot outlets or independent showrooms.
