More News

The rehabilitation of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Nigeria is nearing completion, two construction companies working on the project have announced.

Construction firms Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) and Julius Berger said Wednesday that the project is inching closer to 60% completion mark.

Rehabilitation of the 132km road project will cost the Nigerian government N230 billion.

The work has been divided into sections with each construction firm working on each section. RCC is handling Section 2 from Sagamu to Ibadan while Julius Berger is supervising Section 1 from Sagamu to Lagos.

Top quality materials and technology has been deployed in rehabilitating the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

“An additional layer of 15 centimetre of top asphalt coating while the asphalt admixture was modified to prevent the road from corroding,” said Loesser Wolfgang from Julius Berger.

Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed toured the construction site and said it was necessary for the project to be completed before the end of the year.
