Here Are the Official SASSA Payment Dates for June 2026

EVENTS SPOTLIGHT

21 May 2026-SASSA has confirmed the payment dates for social grants in June 2026, ensuring that more than 18 million beneficiaries across South Africa are informed ahead of the new payment cycle.

The agency’s staggered disbursement system remains in place to ease congestion at ATMs, retailers, and cash pay points nationwide.

June 2026 Payment Schedule at a Glance

SRD R370: No Fixed Date — Check Your Status Online

Unlike permanent grants, the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R370 grant does not have a single fixed payment date.

SASSA processes SRD payments in batches during the final week of June, typically between 24 and 30 June. Each approved applicant is assigned an individual payment date based on their payment method and batch allocation.

Beneficiaries can check their specific payment date and status at srd.sassa.gov.za.

Approved applicants whose status shows no payment date should allow additional processing time, as batch assignments are staggered throughout the final week of the month.

Youth Day: No Impact on Early-Month Payments

Youth Day falls on Tuesday 16 June 2026, a national public holiday. SASSA has confirmed that the early-month payment dates — 2, 3, and 4 June — are not affected.

For any grant whose payment date falls on a public holiday or weekend, SASSA pays on the last working day before that date.

Banking delays between SASSA’s payment release and account credit are common, particularly on smaller banks, and beneficiaries are advised to wait 24 to 48 hours before reporting a missing payment.

“SASSA reiterates its commitment to paying social grants to eligible beneficiaries at the right time and appeals to all beneficiaries who may have not received their grants on these specified dates to visit their nearest SASSA local office for assistance.”

2026 Grant Amounts: April Increases Now in Effect

Following the February 2026 Budget, grant amounts increased from April 2026 and remain in effect for the June payment cycle.

The Older Persons Grant for beneficiaries aged 60 to 74 and the Disability Grant each rose to R2,400, while those aged 75 and above receive R2,420.

The Child Support Grant increased to R580, the Foster Child Grant to R1,290, and the Care Dependency Grant and Grant-in-Aid to R2,400 and R580 respectively. The SRD R370 grant remains unchanged at R370 per month.

Postbank Gold Card: Switch to New Black Card by 31 August 2026

Postbank has urged SASSA Gold Card holders to transition to the new Black Card before 31 August 2026 to avoid disruption to grant payments.

Beneficiaries still on the old Gold Card are advised to visit their nearest Postbank branch or SASSA office to complete the card switch before the deadline.

Retailers accepting SASSA cards include Shoprite, Boxer, Pick n Pay, and Spar.

Tips for Beneficiaries on Payment Day

SASSA reminds grant recipients that funds remain safely in accounts after the payment date.

Beneficiaries do not need to withdraw immediately, and waiting a few days can significantly reduce queues at ATMs and pay points.

Should a payment not arrive within the expected window, beneficiaries can:

  • Call the SASSA toll-free helpline: 0800 60 10 11
  • Visit the nearest SASSA local office with a valid ID document and grant reference number.
  • Check SRD status and payment dates at srd.sassa.gov.za
  • For card or banking issues, ensure that personal payment details on the SASSA system are current before the June cycle begins.
