Perseus Mining Limited (ASX/TSX: PRU) is an Australian headquartered, West African focused gold mining company, that is currently actively involved in exploration, development and production of gold in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire.

The Company currently has two operating gold mines, Edikan in Ghana and Sissingué in Cote d’Ivoire. In 2018, Perseus produced 288,457 ounces of gold and generated US$80 million in notional cashflow from its two operations.

In early May 2019, Perseus committed to develop its third gold mine, the Yaouré Gold Mine in Côte d’Ivoire. At a capital cost of US$265 million, development of Yaouré is expected to take approximately 20 months with the first gold scheduled to be poured in December 2020.

By 2021, Perseus is targeting gold production of more than 500,000 ounces of gold per year from its three operations.

Yaouré is expected to become a large scale, low-cost gold mining operation that will form an important part of Perseus’s asset portfolio for many years to come. First gold production at Yaouré is expected in late 2020, and Perseus is exploring near the mine to extend its nine-year life.

Perseus has commenced exploration at other prospects in Côte d’Ivoire including the Mbengué, Mahalé and Napié licences.

The Company has a strong balance sheet, an experienced and capable board and management team, and a strong sense of Community Social Responsibility, reflected in a robust “licence to operate” in each of its host countries.

Each of these attributes is expected to materially enhance Perseus’s ability to continue its current growth trajectory towards becoming a profitable and reliable mid-tier gold mining company.
