The Talanta stadium is a unique design that oozes a distinct Kenyan flavour, curated to reflect the best of Kenyan culture, says Kenyan Sports minister Ababu Namwamba.
And it will rival best stadia in the world. The design process for the Talanta Sports City was meticulously planned for six months, with curation carefully done to showcase the finest aspects of Kenyan culture, with a specific focus on football and rugby.
Unlike the rest of the stadia in the country, the new sports City’s design will be a compact layout aimed at enhancing the electric atmosphere, providing Kenyan teams with a distinct advantage in every home game.
“It is compact and curated to accentuate the electric atmosphere that will give Kenyan teams an advantage in every home game,’ boasted Namwamba.
The 60,000 seater sports complex will also feature state-of-the-art technology, including top-level TV broadcast capabilities, VAR, and goal-line technology.
Construction of the stadium is being spearheaded by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), the same company that built the 472 km-long Nairobi-Mombasa Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
The company has just less than 2 years to complete the project that has been earmarked for Africa Cup of Nations football competition set for 2027.
