Burkina Faso is constructing an ecological city in the capital Ouagadougou,which upon completion will be a model city where it is good to live.
Dubbed the Bioclimatic City of Yagma, the real estate project will be carried out by PNBF, a subsidiary of the PNHG group, which specialises in construction of such projects.
Covering an area of about 9,135 hectares, the ecological city will feature medium, luxury and high standing” housing units, all in an enchanting and environmentally friendly setting.
Other features of the project include: Fibre optics and a wastewater treatment plant and an underground drainage system.
Bioclimatic City of Yagma is being constructed by PNBF, a subsidiary of the PNHG group, an international construction company.
Yassta Ouedraogo, the general manager of PNBF says that the ecological city is built with the aim of promoting living together among Burkinabés.
Completion of the project is set for 2023, according to PNBF.
Aspiring homeowners in Burkina Faso will have to part with 60,000 euros to get a pie of the Bioclimatic City of Yagma. Construction of the project will cost about 12.2 million Euros.
CEO Mikel Diego says that with climate change staring at the world today, there is need to construct climate responsive buildings.
“Faced with global warming and the scarcity of energy, we have thought of building housing adapted to the climate of the various countries where our company is established,” says Mr Diego.
“We desire to participate strongly in local development and to provide a solution to the housing problem,” he adds.
