A leading manufacturer of conveyor pulleys and idlers, Hudaco Group company Bosworth celebrates its 80th anniversary this year.

From its humble beginnings in 1943 as a general fabricator, Bosworth has established a formidable international footprint, with 60% of its revenue derived from global projects annually.

For example, it is currently prepping a project to be delivered to Central Asia, while another project in the Democratic Republic of Congo is on the cards for later in the year.

“We represent a South African centre of manufacturing excellence and are known worldwide for our quality and pricing,” says Bosworth MD Gavin Hall.

“Our legacy and great products have translated into a significant reputation for quality and excellence, combined with the fact that we can deliver anywhere in Africa.”

The company installed generator and solar back-up power in August 2022, a proactive move that has seen it not lose a single day in production since due to loadshedding.

Hall stresses that Bosworth is not neglecting the local market and is expanding in the refurbishment and replacement sector. Mining companies are looking to cut costs and get extra value out of their operational budgets.

Locally, the coal and platinum markets are doing well, and the gold price is booming, which presents major opportunities in terms of new projects or expansions.

Bosworth’s full product and service offering consists of pulleys, pulley refurbishment, plate rolling, idlers, general fabrication, and wear linings.

It is bundled in the materials handling cluster of Hudaco, and together with other group companies offers complete solutions to customers.
